About Onda Verde
We are a non-governmental and non-profit entity that disseminates information about the environment and sustainability. We act in the conservation of the biological diversity of the Atlantic Forest Biome and stimulate actions for sustainable development.
We mobilize, empower, include and awaken people for the exercise of citizenship and environmental preservation.
Our actions involve environmental education, forest restoration, support for scientific research, sustainable constructions and strengthening of public policies, based on the following areas:

Our Mission

Our History
On January 25, 1994, Onda Verde was created by a collective of young environmentalists who sought to build a fairer, more supportive and sustainable world.
We continue struggling for the implementation of public policies that can contribute to the environment and improve the quality of life of the population of Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro.

2014 - 2018

Environmental Education – 35,000 elementary and high school students and 2,000 people – teachers and school managers from Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro.

Construction of the Creative Economy Center (2015). About 5,000 people have been served to date.

Construction of the Young Photographer's House (2016) and implementation of the Free Bird project: environmental education and social inclusion through photography.
2009 - 2013

Metropolitan Arch Project - training in Environmental Education programs.
2004 - 2008

Environmental education – 33,500 students from the public school system.

Onda Verde begins the Forest Restoration work of the Atlantic Forest – 100,000 seedlings (2006).
1999 - 2003

Environmental Education – about 3,000 students from the cities of Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro.

Construction of the Atlantic Forest Research Center (2003).
1994 - 1998

Onda Verde is founded.

Partnership with Solidaridat und partnershcaft Foundation.

Onda Verde becomes a neighbor of the Biological Reserve of Tinguá (1997).
